TAP’s Instructionally Focused Accountability
With a "get down to business" approach, TAP holds teachers
accountable for meeting established standards for teacher and
student advancement.
Teachers are responsible for meeting the TAP Teaching Skills,
Knowledge and Responsibility (SKR) Standards, as well as for the
academic growth of their students. TAP helps teachers meet
accountability standards through ongoing individualized training,
mentoring and classroom support.
TAP-certified staff analyze classroom instruction for every TAP
teacher four times a year, comparing instruction techniques and
performance with TAP Instructional Standards. Conferences are held
between the teacher and evaluator before and after announced
observations to discuss areas of reinforcement and refinement with
the goal of strengthening classroom instructional techniques
in order to meet identified student needs.
At the school year's end, teachers are eligible for performance
awards based on the learning growth achieved by their
students throughout the school year.
